I’m Kim—owner of KW Appraisal Group and Certified Residential real estate appraiser in New York State for the past 20 years.

I started this blog to share what I’ve learned from spending over two decades in the field—working with homeowners, buyers, investors, and agents across all kinds of markets.

Each week, I see between 5-15 different homes to value. This gives me a unique, on-the-ground view of what really affects property value in real time – the good, the bad, and the ugly.

A Little Back Story: 

My Background in Real Estate began in the late 90s when I worked for a mortgage lending company in Upstate NY. After living and working in Florida and Washington, D.C. for a few years, I returned to Central NY where I obtained my license to sell real estate.

I found that being a salesperson wasn’t the best fit for me. However, I learned a great deal about the industry.

In 2003 I took on a new role as an appraiser trainee, where I began the arduous path to becoming a Certified Residential Appraiser. I genuinely enjoy this career and haven’t looked back since! 

I’ve also made investments in the real estate industry in the form of rental properties, and successfully “flipped” my first house in 2018.
